In 1970, while hand-writing our wedding invitations, Marian noticed my penmanship was much more “rough” than her Catholic-school penmanship. She told me to go into the living room of my apartment and play my guitar and she would write all the invitations herself. I have to say her penmanship is lovely, as is she! Well, I went and took my guitar and tried to write a song, using the lyrics from the Scripture we had chosen for the cover of our invitations. I, somehow, received this song: “Arise, My Love.” Just one more example of how God can take rejection and turn it for good:). Over the years, I have sung this song at many weddings and even some funerals. It fits well for both wonderful events: one is union, the other is reunion:). Both lovely!

At 81, I have so much to share and so little time, so I have packed my thoughts into songs. I love sharing my songs and my thoughts about the meaning of these songs. I hope you do too. Sometimes, I just write without a song. I hope I have something worthwhile to say:).
