What at once upon a time was just a stick drawing of a Fishing hook on a wall in some caves in Mesopotamia or Egypt began to be included with other stick drawings to become what we call ideas and words. Yes, introducing the young ones to the pictures from which the letters evolved IS HELPFUL in the learning of the alphabet! Everyone knows that crawling precedes walking!
